Privacy Policy

2ad.pw ("we," "us," or "our") operates the personalized reading platform at https://2ad.pw, including our iOS app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password (unless you sign in with Google, in which case we store your Google account id and profile details Google provides). We do not store your password in plain text.

Feed preferences and activity

To personalize your reading experience, we store topic preferences, content-style and ranking settings, content-source choices, bookmarks, shares, and in-app feedback (such as likes and dislikes). We also record first-party product activity (for example views, more/less-like feedback, and reading dwell time) to improve ranking and features for you inside 2ad.pw.

Connected accounts

If you connect a third-party account (such as X, Bluesky, YouTube, Reddit, or LinkedIn), we receive OAuth tokens and basic profile details (for example, username and account ID) needed to sync posts you authorize. We store synced post content (text, media URLs, and permalinks) so it can appear in your feed and so you can bookmark, like, dislike, or share those posts inside 2ad.pw. Connected-account posts are private to your account unless you share them with another 2ad.pw user.

Session and technical data

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. Sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity or when you log out. We may also process standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and reliability. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (pages viewed and approximate traffic). Analytics is configured with IP anonymization where supported. We also collect first-party session recordings and click heatmaps to improve the product and support. When you are signed in, recordings may be linked to your account; marketing-site visitors who are not signed in are recorded anonymously. Form inputs in recordings are masked.

2. How we use information

• Provide, operate, and improve the 2ad.pw service
• Authenticate you and secure your account
• Personalize your feed according to preferences you set
• Enable bookmarks, sharing, and feedback features
• Sync and display content from accounts you connect
• Respond to support requests and protect against abuse
• Understand aggregate product usage via analytics

Personalized recommendations and ranking are generated only from first-party data within our own service—your account, preferences, and in-app activity. We do not buy advertising profiles or combine your 2ad.pw activity with data brokers for ads. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to train third-party advertising models.

3. No advertising or cross-app tracking

2ad.pw does not track users for advertising. In particular:

• We do not use advertising SDKs or advertising networks in the iOS app
• We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and we do not access the device advertising identifier (IDFA)
• We do not perform cross-app or cross-website tracking to build advertising profiles
• We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising or advertising measurement
• We do not sell your personal information

Product analytics and session tools described above are used to operate and improve 2ad.pw—not to sell ads or track you across other companies' apps or websites.

4. How we share information

We share information only in these situations:

• With other users you choose — when you share an article or connected post with another 2ad.pw user
• Service providers — infrastructure partners that host the app and database, solely to run the service (not for third-party advertising)
• Connected platforms — when you authorize X, Bluesky, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, or similar providers, those platforms process data under their own privacy policies
• Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of 2ad.pw or its users

5. Third-party services

Connecting social accounts is optional. When you connect a provider, you grant 2ad.pw permission to access data according to the scopes shown during authorization. You can disconnect an integration at any time from the Integrations page. Disconnecting stops future syncs; you may also request deletion of related data (see below). Publisher content shown in your feed comes from public sources (such as RSS) and is subject to those publishers' terms.

6. Data retention

We retain account and preference data while your account is active. Connected accounts stay linked until you disconnect them or the provider revokes access; you can reconnect or disconnect at any time. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security. If you delete your account (or request deletion), we remove or anonymize personal data except where we must retain it for legal or security reasons.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Disconnect third-party integrations
• Export certain information you provided

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as hashed passwords, encrypted session cookies, and encrypted storage of OAuth tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password.

9. Children

2ad.pw is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

2ad.pw is operated from the United States. If you access the service from another country, your information may be processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, when changes are material, provide additional notice in the product or by email when appropriate.
